Good-bye Beautycounter (for now…)

Earlier this week, clean beauty lovers got some difficult and unexpected news. Beautycounter was shutting down! We wouldn't be able to purchase any of our favorite products and thousands of consultants will no longer have a source of income. 😭😭

I’m so sad about this.

I don't have all the details. I wasn't high enough on the ladder to get those. The short story is that the founder sold the company to a private equity firm and things starting going downhill pretty fast and it ultimately went bankrupt. Gregg (the original founder) decided to purchase back the intellectual property (the name, formulations, etc), but getting the company back up and running is turning out to be more difficult and time consuming. So while she regroups and gets things settled, we have to wait and hope that it comes back. Right now, the estimate is early May, but I find that highly unlikely. My best guess would be end of year - maybe fall/holiday.

I truly loved BC. It was the first skincare brand that I truly loved and used religiously. The products did wonders for my skin (and yours) β€” we had glowy, beautiful, non-toxic skin because of clean products that actually worked. And let’s not forget about their advocacy. Their mission to make the entire beauty industry safer was so inspiring. They were pioneers of the clean beauty movement and I’m proud of the small role I had in it.

So if you've ever bought Beautycounter from me or shared my link, THANK YOU! I hope you know how grateful I am for your support and trust. It truly means the world to me. In the meantime, I'll be here sharing all the good (and non-toxic) beauty finds I’m loving, while desperately hoping BC will be back better than ever, as soon as possible! ❀️
